WILLIAM J. BIRKHOFER, has been the best of us all. His efforts in supporting the intent of NASDB to foster the well-being of small disadvantaged business, broke grounds and set the tone that resulted in extraordinary gains, that could not have been otherwise achieved. We glory in his past. We wait expectantly for his future. We herewith recognize his long and continued service on the "point" for small and disadvantaged business owners. We recognize his leadership in your corporate role, that has so benefitted the members of NASDB and the SDB Community. He ain't finished yet. He's just shifting gears.

"Big Guy", we shall be eternally grateful for your efforts, and thankful that you honor us, by your receiving this recognition of our deep affection for you and our appreciation of your advocacy for our cause, over the many years.

Belinda Guadarrama / President and CEO of GC Micro / Petaluma, CA

Belinda Guadarrama is President and Chief Executive Officer of GC Micro Corporation. Under her award-winning leadership, the company has grown to be among Working Woman Magazine’s 2001 List of America’s Top 500 Women-Owned Businesses and was twice named Supplier of the Year by the Northern California Supplier Development Council. GC Micro has been ranked among the 500 largest Hispanic-owned companies by Hispanic Business Magazine since 1993.

Recognized nationally for her advocacy of small and minority business issues, Ms. Guadarrama has served as a small business policy advisor to the White House over the past three presidential administrations.

In addition, Ms. Guadarrama was 1997-1999 chair of the NASA Minority Business Resource Advisory Committee (MBRAC), which works with NASA and its contractors to ensure the participation of minority-owned firms in the future of space exploration. Because of her exceptional work on the committee, Ms. Guadarrama was awarded the NASA Public Service Award and Medal in 2001.

A second-generation American and the daughter of a disabled American veteran, Belinda Guadarrama grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She earned a degree in economics from Trinity University in San Antonio.

After years of solid determination and hard work, Belinda Guadarrama heads a multi-million dollar company and hopes that she can serve as an example of leadership to other Hispanic youth and women everywhere who want to achieve the American Dream.
